Spring Sports Try Outs begin Wednesday, March 4, 2026

  • All students trying out Must Have a completed Physical and Concussion form turned in before March 2- they can be turned in to  Ms. Walker, Mr. Hylton or Mr. Ellison.
  • Physical Forms can be picked up by your student from the main gym or you can print one off from school webpage (if you print one off make sure to get the physical and concussion forms).
  • If you choose to upload them through DragonFly (we prefer paper copies) please send Ms. Walker, Mr. Hylton or Mr. Ellison an email that you used DragonFly.
  • 1st semester grades will be used for eligibility purposes – if a student fails more than 2 classes(core and encore) for the semester they are not eligible
  • Attendance – students can not have more than 13 unexcused days absent in the semester.

 2026 Tryouts Begin March 4
 
  3:40 - 5:30pm
 
All athletes will be timed at sprints and distance events as well as try field events during tryouts. Athletes will be chosen based on times and scores from tryouts. 
  
 
Girls trying out are expected to attend every day listed for Girls.
 
If students make the team they are expected to attend all practices and meets unless given prior approval by the Coach.

 

Please turn in forms by 8:30 am by the first day of tryouts to the Athletic Director. Forms can be turned in before the first day of tryouts.

Please make a copy of your paperwork in case you need it for something else.

 

 Any 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls interested in trying out for track must have a new, current physical and concussion form and meet all other eligibility requirements. Physicals are current for 395 days. Concussion forms are current for only for the school year.

Mandatory Parents Meeting TBA.

Athletes will need to pay a $45 Athletic fee online using K12 payment on NW Middle website or by cash or check at NW Middle or send a waiver to GCS Director of Athletics before the first meet to participate. This is a once school-year fee. If the athlete paid earlier in the school year, she will not need to pay again. 

Managers do not pay the athletic fee.

*** When attending Track meets at the NW High School Track turn off NW School Road at the tennis courts at NW High. Drive back to the football field and park right at the gate at the track.
