Spring Sports Try Outs begin Monday, March 2, 2026

  • All students trying out Must Have a completed Physical and Concussion form turned in before March 2- they can be turned in to  Ms. Walker, Mr. Hylton or Mr. Ellison.
  • Physical Forms can be picked up by your student from the main gym or you can print one off from school webpage (if you print one off make sure to get the physical and concussion forms).
  • If you choose to upload them through DragonFly (we prefer paper copies) please send Ms. Walker, Mr. Hylton or Mr. Ellison an email that you used DragonFly.
  • 1st semester grades will be used for eligibility purposes – if a student fails more than 2 classes(core and encore) for the semester they are not eligible
  • Attendance – students can not have more than 13 unexcused days absent in the semester.

2025 Baseball Tryouts Begin March 3

   3:40 - 6 pm

With permission from your Teacher, please keep your bags in your home base and pick it up at the end of the day until the team is picked.

Please make a copy of all the paperwork in case you need it for something else such as a camp,etc. 

 

Please turn in new, current physical and concussion forms found on the NWMS website under athletics by 8:30 am by the first day of tryouts to the Athletic Director. Forms can be turned in early.

 

Any 6th, 7th and 8th graders interested in trying out should have a current physical (current for 395 days), a current concussion form (current for one school year), and meet all eligibility requirements (found on NWMS Athletic website). A new concussion form is needed each school year. Forms needed can be found on the NWMS website under Athletics or picked up from your PE Teacher.

 

Students are expected to be at every day of tryouts.

If students make the team, they are expected at every practice and games unless prior approval is given by the Coach.

 

Mandatory Parent Meeting after team is selected Date to be announced

 

Athletes who make the team will pay the $45 Athletic fee or send a waiver to GCS Director of Athletics before the first game to participate. The fee can be paid online using the K12 payment system found on the NW Middle website or by cash or check at NW Middle School. This is a once a year fee. If the athlete has paid the fee earlier in this school year, he will not need to pay again. Managers do not pay the athletic fee.
